Motionmail img tag causes email to get spammed (using mailchimp to send)

Update.. it seems mediatemple won't whitelist the mmgo.io domain..



This is what I sent to mediatemple support:



I've built a HTML email that looks like this: http://yourprimal.com/email/p1-launch/
(notice the countdown timer that loads eventually)

The email is being sent using mailchimp to a database of around 2000 people.

The countdown image is generated by http://motionmailapp.com.

Whenever I send the email *with* the motionmail <img> tag, the email gets spammed by mediatemple (as in it arrives in the my junk when I send the test email to my mediatemple hosted email address matt@yourprimal.com, as it does for all my colleagues too). If I remove the motionmail <img>, the email does not get spammed.

The mailprotect settings are set to their defaults.

I've tried sending to another mediatemple hosted email address and it also got spammed.

The <img> tag that causes the email to get spammed is:
<img src="http://s.mmgo.io/t/_F" />

What can we do to get the mmgo.io domain whitelisted by mediatemple servers?

You can whitelist your domain on your own GRID service by adding the domain to the 'Allow list' in MailProtect. I am including a KnowledgeBase article in regard to this below:

However, we cannot whitelist the entire domain over our networks. HTML emails containing externally-hosted images will increase the spam score of the email. According to the headers you provided, the email has a spam score of 5, which is the default threshold for filtering spam email on the GRID. You can change the spam score settings for your mailbox(es) on the GRID using the following KnowledgeBase article:

You may want to try embedding the images, rather than having them externally hosted. This may lower the spam score enough to have it deliver to the inbox with the default settings.

Thank you for the detailed follow-up. We haven't received a response to the message we sent Media Temple yet. I'm testing out an potential alternate solution in case they refuse to white list our domain.
