Timer does not move when email is viewed in Outlook.

Sir James Brooke 10 years ago updated by Anthony G 8 years ago 6
I tried embedding my customized timer in an email and sent it to check if it works when viewed in a browser via webmail and in Outlook. The timer only moved when viewed in the former, it remains static in the latter. It does, however, update the time indicated when viewed in Outlook in separate occasions in a span of an hour, which is fine but is there any way for the timer to move as intended? Hoping you could help me with this ASAP. Thanks!

We've tested the timers accross all popular email clients and most render the countdown timer correctly. Unfortunately, Outlook 2007 does not support animated GIFs, which means that the countdown timer won't work as intended but instead falls back on a static image. I'm using MS Outlook 2010 and I can't get it to work. Please advise. Thank you.
I'm having the same problem as well, using MS Outlook 2010. It will be great if this can be fixed!
Hi Nur, unfortunately there's no good way to get a countdown timer to work in MS Outlook 2010 since it does not support animated GIFs.

Is this a known issue for all Outlook versions? I'm seeing a similar problem in Outlook 2013. I take it this doesn't support animated gifs?
