This is really great but could it turn to a static image that's linked somewhere when the time runs out?
Unless I'm missing it, it doesn't look like you can send program the time to turn into a "promo over" image that might allow a waiting list signup or something.
Or am I missing how to do that.

This feature is currently not available; the timer will simply show 0's indicating time has run out. We will consider the option to show a custom message instead.

If somewhere down the track, you decided on a free/paid business model for MotionMail, you could have different options of this suggestion for the varying plans.
Example:
a) Free plan: When clock runs out, MotionMail could display an Advertisement to generate some ad revenue for yourselves or a Static Image to drive more traffic to your own service (Countdown Clock by MotionMail. Click here to get yours Free).
b) Paid Plan: When clock runs out, users can customize the clock to have
- a static image/message as Rick had mentioned, that can direct traffic else where. This would be controllable within the clock setting in advance so when the end date/time is reached, it would click over automatically.
- integration with AdSense to allow us to display ads in it's place when clock runs out.
- or simply just choose to have the clock show 0's indicating to new traffic that the clock/sale has run out.
